I hope 2024 is treating you well! I had an amazing creative year in 2023 and wanted to share a small recap of my most highlighted projects from last year. Below are select images of my recent projects with a reflective personal note.

“SPLASH POLLINATOR”

“This is one of my most meaningful projects as I am working closely with elementary school students in my community in East Boston. Harvest is a collaborative project between Boston Public Schools, Eastie Farm, and Harbor Arts. This project enhances creativity and hands-on participation between selected artists and students. This unique experience brings together the Arts, Science, and community in one unique public art project. Many thanks to the Dante Alighieri Montessori School and the East Boston community.”

“DIMENSIONAL ESCAPE”

CAPE COD MUSEUM OF ART

“I was invited to participate in this exhibit by curator Samuel Tager. This show consisted in gathering a group of public muralists to showcase their “studio” work inside and outside the gallery. Large scale works/murals were installed around the museum. I personally installed a sculpture/painting indoors. My installation merged sculptural elements into my mural. An idea that had been brewing for some years. I was particularly happy to be exploring a new direction in my artwork. Sculptural murals are an idea i will continue to explore and im looking forward to see where it leads.

“GENERATIONAL SPIRIT”

EAST BOSTON SOCIAL CENTER

“As a new resident of East Boston, I must integrate with my community. I had the pleasure of working with local artist and muralist Silvia Lopez Chavez. We collaborated with the East Boston Social center and its community. we surveyed many East Boston residents prior to the creation of our mural.

“Generational Strength” was a reoccurring theme. We decided to represent one member of each generation currently living in East Boston. This was a highly celebrated mural as we had a block party by our mural. We were recognized by our elected officials and supported by our lovely community. Many thanks to the East Boston Social Center. The “Beautify Main Streets” initiative and Harbor Arts.”

“WE SHARE ONE SKY”

NEWBURYPORT ART ASSOCIATION

“I was the lead artist for a new public art initiative supported by the Newburyport Art Association. This collaborative project brought many artists together, from professional muralists to local fine artists who wanted to make their first attempt at public art. We named the project ‘We Share One Sky’ to promote diversity and inclusivity in a town where ‘traditional arts’ including maritime themes had been the major focus over the years. I also created an interactive sculpture that depicts local flora and fauna. The spectator can view and interact with the sculpture creating a fun and dynamic interchangeable art piece.

The new public murals around town bring a new energy to Newburyport's vibrant creative culture inspiring many to take a fresh view of its growing artistic community. Many thanks to Markus Sebastiano, The Blochaus Art Gallery, David Hall and the Tannery, the Tuttle family, and of course the Newburyport Art Association.”
